Education is under provincial jurisdiction - and there are nearly as many ways of running school bus services as there are provinces.

School bus services can be owned and operated by school districts, or contracted out private operators, use existing public transportation, or be a combination. Bus purchasing can be done at a school board level, or through consortiums, or come directly from the province. 

The only thing consistent across Canada is that parent voices can make a difference in making electric school buses a priority at the board and/or provincial levels.
